TERRENCE Jones continued his spectacular play by scoring 43 points to lead TNT to a 99-85 win over Alaska on Saturday in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
Jones once again took the scoring load for TNT, eclipsing his 41-point output in his debut game in the PBA to lead the KaTropa to a 2-0 start to the conference.
Jones though was ejected in the game due to a technical foul and a flagrant foul penalty one he sustained with 2:11 left in the match, but the result of the game was already settled by that time.
The former Houston Rockets cager actually had a double-double, grabbing 22 rebounds, and adding five assists, three steals, and two blocks in the contest.
“Our short-term goal is to win as much as possible especially in the early part of the conference,” said TNT coach Bong Ravena.
Jones led a TNT pullaway when he had eight in the KaTropa’s 11-3 finish to the third quarter for a 73-63 lead. TNT never looked back from there as he hit a three at the 2:44 mark to give him 43 points and a 93-79 lead.
Jayson Castro had 14 points, while Anthony Semerad had 11 points for the KaTropa, who led by as many as 19 points in the contest.
Chris Daniels had 23 points and 19 rebounds, and JVee Casio had 22 points for the Aces, who fell to 1-2.
