Jones not spared as PBA slaps P70K fine for hitting Abueva groin, pushing ref

PBA also cracks whip on TNT import

TNT import Terrence Jones didn’t escape being penalized by the PBA on Tuesday as he was fined a total of P70,000 by the league for his actions during Sunday’s Commissioner’s Cup match at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.

Jones was fined P50,000 after the league determined that he hit Phoenix Pulse star Calvin Abueva in the groin, the act that triggered a retaliation by Abueva where he hit a clothesline on Jones during Sunday’s game against the Fuel Masters.

The high-scoring TNT import was also penalized P20,000 after physically contacting an official during the same game. The incident occurred right after Abueva hit a clothesline on Jones, who was seen pushing off a referee while being pacified.

Incidentally, Jones’ fine was the same as Abueva, who was punished for hitting Jones and doing lewd gestures against a fan in a game against Blackwater which was later identified as Bobby Ray Parks Jr.’s girlfriend Maika Rivera.
