THINGS got a little heated between TNT import Terrence Jones and Ginebra guard LA Tenorio during the two teams' PBA Commissioner’s Cup game on Wednesday night.
Jones was slapped with a flagrant foul 7:36 left in the third quarter when the former NBA player hit Tenorio as he drove to the basket from the right corner.
When asked what happened, Jones accused Tenorio of punching him in the stomach prior to the foul.
“I just wanted to be aggressive. He kinda punched me in the stomach beforehand and they didn’t call it,” said Jones, when asked about the incident with Tenorio.
The incident came just a week after Jones had a run-in with Calvin Abueva of Phoenix Pulse, who was suspended indefinitely for hitting Jones with a clothesline during the now infamous incident.
Jones, however, didn’t escape punishment as he was fined P70,000 for hitting Abueva in the groin area in a previous play.
Jones said he didn't lose his focus over the incident.
“I just wanted to let my guys know that they are not going to try to do anything dirty. We just going to continue winning. We kept playing and we didn’t bother none of us. We are just worried about getting this win,” said Jones.
