RYAN Richards will be replaced as Terrafirma import by Brandon Edwards following another underwhelming performance on Tuesday in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
Terrafirma coach Raymond Tiongco said the Dyip will be making the switch after Richards, the tallest import in the league at 6-foot-11, only played for 17 minutes and 28 seconds, and finished with six points on 2-for-10 shooting from the field, and seven rebounds.
Richards played for only one second in Saturday’s game against NorthPort due to a back injury.

“Last game na niya actually. Hindi siya pabor sa sistemang tinatakbo namin. He is too slow. Aminado naman siya na hindi siya makakasabay sa gusto naming mangyari,” said Tiongco.
“Friday, hopefully, nandito na ‘yung import namin,” said Tiongco, referring to Terrafirma’s next game against Meralco where the Dyip will try to arrest a three-game skid.
The replacement is a familiar face in Edwards, who was supposed to be the import of the team in the Governors’ Cup this season but sustained an injury.
Last August, Terrafirma team governor Bobby Rosales said Edwards suffered an ACL injury although the import recently played in Indonesia. The 6-foot-6 Edwards was replaced by Antonio Hester, but stayed in the country as the Dyip spent for his rehabilitation.
Aside from their other options still in the United States, Tiongco said Edwards is already familiar with the Terrafirma system.
“Nasa Indonesia siya tapos he contacted us. ‘Yung mga gusto sana namin, nasa US, kaso hindi aabot ng Friday. Hinabol ko siya today pero ‘yung Indonesia team, medyo nalate ‘yung release ng papers,” said Tiongco.
“Bago siya umalis sa Indonesia, nagpapractice siya sa amin. Alam niya ‘yung nira-run namin,” said Tiongco.
