TERRAFIRMA looks to stretch its winning run on Sunday as it battles Blackwater in the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup at the Don Honorio Ventura State University gym in Bacolor, Pampanga.
The Dyip eye their third straight victory in their 2 p.m. clash against the Bossing.
Terrafirma is on a high after shocking Barangay Ginebra, 95-90, on Friday to capture its second straight victory. The Dyip earlier defeated San Miguel in overtime, 114-108, on Wednesday, their first in the PBA restart.
Juami Tiongson has been the main man for the Dyip, recording 31 points in their match against the reigning champion Gin Kings, propelling him to first place among scorers with 18.8 per game.
Blackwater is winless in six games.
Terrafirma hasn’t won three games in a conference since the 2019 Commissioner’s Cup on a team backstopped by import Lester Prosper and CJ Perez.
“Gusto nilang manalo. We started very poor. Going to the semi-bubble, I really have to talk to them. Then, our captain ball, si Eric (Camson), as the captain ball, doing his part. Aldrech (Ramos), kinausap din niya sila na, ‘Guys, hindi tayo pumunta dito para mag-bakasyon. Pumunta tayo dito para manalo ng unang panalo,’” said coach Johnedel Cardel.
“Eto na nga, dalawa na ang panalo, sana magdere-derecho na kami,” said Cardel.
