TERRA Firma made sure to fully disinfect its training facility at the Azure Urban Resort and Residences prior to the start of the team workouts on Wednesday.
A team of experts led by Doc Ireneo ‘Ivy’ Bautista sanitized the whole of ‘The Hardcourt’ in preparation for the Dyip’s return to practice after almost five months of being idle.
Bautista, assistant team manager of Terra Firma, and his team were in complete PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) suits when they disinfected the four-year-old gym built solely for the use of the Columbian Motors franchise.
Health protocols and safety reminders are also posted around the facility to help players, coaches, and trainers be guided of the with the hospital standard decorum the PBA implemented for all teams to follow while working out in this time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Dyip actually, even have their own team protocols on top of the ones crafted by the PBA and the IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases).
“Mas mabuti na yung sigurado ang safety ng team,” said Bautista, a former member of the national swimming team and among the pioneer therapists of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).
Terra Firma top management ordered the proper decontamination of the gym for the safety of the entire team prior to its return to workout.
“Yun ang gusto ni (Board of governor) Bobby Rosales,” said Bautista. “He also wants family members of all players, coaches, and utilities to be involved in supporting the players in time of this pandemic crisis.”
Bautista will also serve as the Dyip’s official health officer during the workouts.
