GLOBALPORT turned to Stanley Pringle at crunch time to get past Barangay Ginebra, 97-96, in their tune-up game on Thursday at the CCF gym.
The Batang Pier trailed for most of the match, made it a see-saw affair down the stretch before Pringle scored the game-winning layup over three defenders with 1.5 seconds left.
Pringle finished with a game-high 27 points, while import Dominique Sutton added 21 markers for the Batang Pier, who are without Terrence Romeo.
Joe Devance and Paul Harris led the Gin Kings with 19 and 17 points, respectively, in a losing effort on their home practice floor.
