GLOBALPORT played without Stanley Pringle in its PBA Governors Cup game against NLEX Sunday as he had to make an emergency leave for the US to attend to his ailing father.
Pringle left the country shortly after the Batang Pier's 119-112 win over TnT Katropa on Friday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
"He has to leave immediately after the game against TnT because he got another message from his family in the US. Kailangan talaga siya dun," said Globalport alternate governor Eric Arejola at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Fil-Am guard twice rebooked his ticket in order to play for the Batang Pier's games against TnT and NLEX, according to team manager Bonnie Tan.
He did play against the Katropa and went on to deliver a career-game with 30 points on 10 of 16 shooting, and said during the interview for the Best PLayer of the Game that he dedicates the fine performance to his father.
"Personally I was very happy to see him play that way. He was even the best player of the game considering na may problema siya sa pamilya niya," said Tan.
Pringle again rebooked his flight for Sunday night after the game against the Road Warriors, but proceeded to leave for the US after getting an emergency call.
