FACED with an uproar, Sports5 has again tweaked its broadcast schedule of the PBA Commissioner's Cup on Wednesday, announcing that all opening matches during weekday doubleheaders will once again be aired live on Aksyon TV 41.
The announcement was made by Sports5, the sports outfit of TV5, on its Twitter account amid confusion over the new broadcast schedule that took effect in the mid-season conference.
Fans and several key personalities like San Mig coach Tim Cone expressed their disappointment on social networking sites when Sports5's new broadcast schedule was implemented last week.
Under the broadcast set-up agreed upon by the PBA and its broadcast partner, Sports5 increased from five to seven the league games it carried live on TV5 but at the same time discontinued the live airing of weekday opening games on its sister channel Aksyon TV 41.
The first games on weekdays were instead aired on a delayed basis over TV5 beginning aty 11 p.m.
But after the severe backlash, Sports5 has now announced that it is resuming the live airing of the first game of weekday doubleheaders on Aksyon TV 41. The same games will still be brodcast on a delayed basis on TV5.
"BY DEMAND | All PBA Weekday with 1ST games (Mon, Wed & Fri) will be broadcast LIVE on AksyonTV. It will still also air on TV5 at 11pm," wrote Sports5 on its Twitter account.
