“As a team, we are going through a process.”

Coach Nash Racela is objective and forthright about the state of the Blackwater Elite, a team that was entrusted to his leadership late last year. But he’s also optimistic: “We’re very positive, as long as we put in the work and do our part in our preparation.”

In a recent episode of Spin Sidelines, we interviewed the former head coach of Far Eastern University’s Men’s Basketball team. Among other things, he talked about his life under quarantine, the current state of his Blackwater team, and the chemistry he has with former FEU players who now play for Blackwater. While he’s aware of the challenges, Coach Racela is ready for them. “As a coach, dapat handa ka sa mga ganong challenges—hindi ka dapat umaatras. Ang importante is the opportunity to be able to lead a group of people.”

Our chat with Coach Racela is the second episode of Spin Sidelines that we’ve made into a podcast as well. Apart from releasing the series in video format, we are also giving you the option to stream it in audio. It’s perfect for listening while you’re cleaning up around the house or going for a quick drive to pick up some supplies.
