Magnolia's new import is a core member of the South Sudan national squad, having played during their maiden campaign in the Olympics in 2024 in Paris.

Listed at 6-foot-9, Omot is actually coming back to Manila as he also played for South Sudan in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

He, however, was involved in an incident during the World Cup where a hit on Serbia’s Borisa Simanic led to his kidney being surgically removed.

Omot later apologized for the incident.
