A ROOKIE hopeful has seen his PBA Draft stock rise over the past couple of months. But before he could capitalize, there's something he may have to settle first.
In preparation for his jump to the PBA, this Fil-American college standout wants to change agents. When he came over to play locally, he has an agent who helped him get his Philippine pasport.

Now he wants another agent to handle his forthcoming professional career because a veteran local agent presumably can handle his PBA affairs more efficiently.
His plan did not sit well with his first agent who, sources say, threatened to have his Philippine passport cancelled. If that happens, he may not have time to apply for a new passport to become eligible to join the draft.
The current agent, sources say, somehow can do real damage with his citizenship because he allegedly was the one who helped him secure a Philippine passport that enabled him to play locally immediately.
Clue?
The player in question is not your regular talent. This guy has seen his skills develop so rapidly he could go high in the next PBA draft.
Some sources even say that in the absence of Mike Philips, who many consider a likely top overall pick until he decided to play abroad, this Fil-Am became a cinch to be picked in the first round.
PVL - not local governments - funds PVL on Tour prize money
THE cash incentives awarded to teams playing in the ongoing PVL On Tour come from the league and not from local government units (LGU) hosting each stop of the preseason caravan.
A league source clarified that while LGUs partner with the PVL to bring preseason league action to the provinces, the prize money is provided by the league.
"‘Yung prize money, hindi sa LGU galing ‘yun,” the source told SPIN.ph.
Under the PVL's incentive program, winning teams get P100,000 per game and the losing sides receive P50,000.

The source said the payouts will not be immediately available to the team but will only be released after each team completes its schedule.
"Ang alam ko kasi, iipunin ‘yan sa dulo. After the last game ng team, ibibigay [‘yung total prize money],” the source added.
Each of the nine participating clubs is scheduled to play three games during the preseason tour, except Nxled, which has been slated for four outings.
That means a team, even if it loses all its games, is guaranteed to receive at least P150,000 by the end of its campaign.- John Mark Garcia
