TNT fans got understandable excited when the team's official Facebook page posted photos of Rondae Hollis-Jefferson now in the Philippines in the middle of the Tropang 5G’s stint in the PBA Governors’ Cup.
The import that helped TNT bag three championships was seen working out in the team’s practice facility at the Moro Lorenzo Sports Center inside the Ateneo campus.
Is RHJ set to return very soon?
Not yet, said TNT team manager Jojo Lastimosa.
According to him, the target remains the same, meaning Hollis-Jefferson could be back sometime in the second part of the Governors’ Cup elimination round, which will come after the league takes a break to give way to Gilas Pilipinas’ participation in the Asian Games.
And that’s the earliest.

Hollis-Jefferson is still recovering from the Achilles injury from his Meralco stint in the EASL last season that prevented him from playing with TNT, and the Tropang 5G are taking a careful approach.
“Earliest is during our last four games of elims in October,” Lastimosa said.
With RHJ still out, it will be his brother Rahlir who will play for TNT. He played his first game last Saturday where he had 20 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists. - Reuben Terrado
