DOES Bol Bol know the meaning of his name in Filipino? Definitely yes, a source bared.
Besides being a 7-foot-3 former NBA player, Bol has become a source of good-natured ribbing from Filipino fans because of his name which, in the Pilipino dialect, means well, you know, a part of the human anatomy that is below the belt.

The spelling, however, is different although it's only a matter of switching a vowel. But still, it may sound the same and thus, the continued fascination with the Sudanese-American's name.
When he arrived, the memes community went to work. Whether this will affect his performance as TNT's import remains to be seen. But it may sound a bit odd if fans would shout his name in the heat of battle.
Reportedly, Bol, whose father Manute is an NBA legend, has already been told what his name meant in Pilipino during his first day of practice with TNT. A source said Bol, who turned out to be unflappable, laughed it off.

Bol is expected to be one of the attractions in the coming Commissioner’s Cup that opens Wednesday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Don't expect Bol to make his debut on that date. His first game is taking place on March 20 against Rain or Shine. - Reuben Terrado
NLEX import Lalanne also an SMB, Meralco target?
IS import Cady Lalanne really that good?
He could be, as SPIN.ph learned from sources that he was being targeted not just by one, but three PBA teams, as their import for the mid-season Commissioner’s Cup which kicks off on Wednesday (March 11).
NLEX beat everybody to the draw by winning the Lalanne sweepstakes. His credentials include being a rookie draftee of the San Antonio Spurs.

Aside from the Road Warriors, it was gathered that the 6-foot-10 native of Port Au-Prince in Haiti, also drew interest from the Meralco Bolts and the San Miguel Beermen.
San Miguel was eyeing the services of Lalanne as early as the semifinals of the Philippine Cup, but appeared to forget all about him when San Miguel made the all-Filipino finals, sources bared.
“Kaso nga lang, na-busy na yung team lalo na nung pumasok sa finals, kaya hindi na agad naasikaso,” said a San Miguel insider of the Beermen, who went on and retained their all-Filipino title by beating TNT in the title series.
“Alam ko gusto rin siya ng Meralco,” another source bared.
Lalanne did manage to wear the Bolts blue and orange jersey when he played a single game with them during the team’s final outing in the EASL Home and Away Season 3 as a replacement for the injured Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.
He emerged as the second leading scorer for Meralco with 18 points despite practicing for just a day with the team, which lost to Ryukyu Golden Kings, 88-79, and fell short of making the playoffs.
Now all eyes will definitely be on the 33-year-old Lalanne to see if he’s really that good to gain interest from three PBA teams. - Gerry Ramos
