BARAKO Bull import Solomon Alabi is a self-confessed Manny Pacquiao fan.

And as an avid follower of the country’s most beloved son, Alabi said he won’t be shy enough to ask the boxing great to invite him to personally watch his coming May 2 blockbuster showdown against Floyd Mayweather Jr.

“I would like to go (to Las Vegas watch the Pacquiao-Mayweather title fight). I should ask him (Pacquiao) so he can invite me, and that would be a good idea, like maybe, I can ask him, ‘I know I’m a nobody, but invite me to your fight,’” a smiling Alabi said shortly after lifting Barako Bull to a thrilling 93-91 overtime win over Alaska Tuesday night in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup behind his game-winning putback.

Like every boxing aficionado, Alabi said he has been anxiously waiting for the dream title match for years which became official last Saturday following the formal announcement made by the unbeaten American.

“The whole world has been waiting for that. So it’s gonna be a great fight. I know Pacquiao is ready and Mayweather is ready too, so it’s gonna be a great fight,” added the former Florida State standout.

As proof that he’s a follower of Pacquiao, the 26-year-old Alabi posted his ‘selfie’ picture with Pacquiao at his Facebook account.

Although everyone who saw it got surprise, the Nigerian import said a lot also liked it.

“I posted it on my Facebook account. I did. Everybody likes it. And everyone was surprised, like they say, ‘hey, you met Pacquiao?’ I said, ‘Yes.’ Everyone was surprised,” he said.

Alabi took the selfie photo with the 36-year-old Pacquiao just minutes before the Barako-Bull-KIA match last February 8.

The Energy won that match, 95-86 behind Alabi’s overpowering performance of 26 points, 19 rebounds, and a tournament-best eight blocks.
