DEFENDING champion and top seed San Miguel will meet No. 8 NLEX in the playoffs as the quarterfinals cast of the PBA Philippine Cup was finally completed on Sunday night.

The Beermen (9-2) will be going to the next round on a nine-game winning run and will have a shot at avenging their 85-84 loss to the same team during San Miguel’s season debut.

The Road Warriors finished with a 6-5 record and will need not one but two victories to get past the Beermen.

Second seed Rain or Shine (8-3) will meet No. 7 Meralco (6-5), while No. 6 Magnolia (6-5) duke it out with third seed TNT (8-3).

Enjoying its first ever twice-to-beat in franchise history, fourth seed Converge (7-4) faces No. 5 Barangay Ginebra (7-4).
