THERE was no hour-long meeting between the San Miguel coaches after yet another frustrating loss in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
The Beermen coaching staff had their customary discussion after Tuesday’s game where they got blown out by Rain or Shine, 107-93, to fall down to a 1-2 win-loss record in their title retention bid this conference.

It was, however, not as lengthy as after San Miguel was beaten by NLEX, 104-99, last Sunday at the Ynares Center where the coaching staff stayed for an hour after the Beermen squandered a 19-point lead.
SMB coach Jorge Gallent and several Beermen players politely refused to grant interviews after coming out of the dugout.
Frustration, however, was visible on the faces of the players when they first emerged on their way out of the Filoil EcoOil Centre.
Their title retention bid continued to get off to a slow start when San Miguel fell after giving up 12 straight points to Rain or Shine that turned a 78-76 lead into an 88-78 deficit with 6:47 left in the game.
The Beermen were able to decrease the gap to 90-83, but the Elasto Painters countered with a 6-0 run with Deon Thompson, Felix Lemetti, and Caelan Tiongson making the baskets.
San Miguel is currently at 1-2, with its lone win thanks to a game-winning shot by Marcio Lassiter in a tight 107-104 win over Phoenix last December 3.
The Beermen will look to arrest their skid on Friday when they face winless Terrafirma (0-4) at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
It will be their first face-off since both teams got engaged in a trade where San Miguel shipped Terrence Romeo and Vic Manuel to Terrafirma for Juami Tiongson and Drei Cahilig.
