THE PBA 49th Season Philippine Cup is slated to open on Friday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium, just a week after the conclusion of the Commissioner’s Cup.
Terrafirma and Phoenix open hostilities at 5 p.m., followed by the match-up between Meralco and Converge at 7:30 p.m.
The 50th-anniversary games have also been confirmed to be played at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum on April 9 with Magnolia taking on Converge at 5 p.m., and Meralco battling San Miguel at 7:30 p.m.

Magnolia will actually open the new conference on Saturday when it battles Blackwater at 5 p.m. at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium with San Miguel going up against NLEX at 7:30 p.m. at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
The following day, Meralco begin its campaign with a match-up against Terrafirma, while Converge battles Phoenix at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Meanwhile, newly-crowned Commissioner’s Cup titlist TNT, renamed Tropang 5G, will start its bid for the Philippine Cup crown and a grand slam on April 23 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum when it battles NLEX at 5 p.m., with last conference’s runner-up Barangay Ginebra facing Terrafirma at 7:30 p.m.
The first out-of-town game of the conference will be held in Zamboanga as Magnolia, led by hometown hero Mark Barroca, takes on Phoenix on April 26 at 7:30 p.m.
