SAN Miguel was left without main gunner Marcio Lassiter for the remainder of its do-or-die quarterfinal against NorthPort after hurting his left knee.
The 32-year-old went for a block on a driving Garvo Lanete, but came out limping after a knee-to-knee collision in mid-air.
The SMB guard was immediately subbed out at the 3:22 mark of the second quarter and was taken to the Beermen dugout.
"I still don't know what it is," Lassiter, a member of the Gilas Pilipinas pool to the 2019 Fiba World Cup, told SPIN.ph.
San Miguel's PTs are still uncertain what the injury is, but were told that Marcio Lassiter felt "an extra sensation" when he made his landing.
Lassiter will immediately be taken to Cardinal Santos Medical Center to undergo an MRI.
The Beermen still lead the Batang Pier, 43-39, at the half, with the winner progressing to the semifinals.
Lassiter had 11 points on a 3-of-4 shooting from downtown, to go with three rebounds and two assists before exiting the game.
