TERRENCE Romeo admitted he's still feeling his way back when he finally suited up for San Miguel Beer in the PBA Commissioner's Cup following a two-month layoff.
The three-time scoring champion played for 15 minutes and finished with six points and four assists in the Beermen's 109-105 win over NLEX on Friday night at the Mall of Asia Arena.
"Nanibago ako. Yung rhythm ko, yung shooting ko. Marami pa talaga akong dapat gawin," said Romeo, who had not played for the Beermen since Game 7 of the Philippine Cup finals owing to an Achilles injury.
"Out of shape talaga ako kasi two months akong hindi nakakatakbo."
Romeo's return was a timely boost for the San Miguel's playoff hopes, but he pointed out it was new import Chris McCullough who had a lot to do with the timely win against NLEX.
"Hindi naman importante siguro 'yung pagbabalik ko. Ang importante yung pagdating ng bagong import namin kasi siya talaga yung nagdadala ng energy," said Romeo of the import who replaced Charles Rhodes.
"Siya talaga yung bumubuhat sa depensa namin. Given na yung scoring niya, nandun palagi yun, pero ibang klase yung depensa niya."
Romeo said his recovery from the injury that sidelined him for seven games is going fine and that his concern right now is his conditioning.
"As in wala talaga ako (sa kundisyon). Parang 30 percent pa lang yung condition ko," he said.
