SAN Miguel tries to extend its lead in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup finals when the Beermen go up against Barangay Ginebra on Friday night at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
The Beermen look to win their third straight game in the series in Game Four slated at 7 p.m.
San Miguel turned a tight Game Three into a lopsided one after the Beermen beat the Gin Kings to take the series lead.
It was the second blowout victory for the Beermen in the series, and coach Leo Austria reminded the players not to be complacent.
“This win, though it is a blowout, this is just one win. There’s a long way to go. We need another two wins,” said Austria.
Chris Ross shot the lights out for San Miguel, finishing with 23 points on 7 of 13 from threes, while Renaldo Balkman posted a double-double of 28 points and 11 rebounds.
Ginebra coach Tim Cone hopes his team isn’t demoralized by the two successive lopsided defeats, and it’s still a long way from the end.
“Bottom line though, we still have to remember it's a seven-game series and the game score is still 2-1,” said Cone.
Justin Brownlee had 32 points, but Mark Caguioa was the only other double-digit scorer for Ginebra with 12 points.
Before Game Four, the PBA will hand out the Best Player of the Conference and the Best Import awards.
June Mar Fajardo has the most average statistical points in the eliminations.
