BENNIE Boatwright has agreed in principle to return to San Miguel in the PBA 50th Season Commissioner's Cup, replacing Justin Patton.
San Miguel team manager Gee Abanilla on Sunday said Boatwright is already slated to come over in the coming days after he completes all of his commitments with Daegu KOGAS in the Korean Basketball League.

Abanilla said the Gilas Pilipinas naturalization candidate needs only to complete his exit interviews in the KBL.
“Because of what happened, I was forced to get in touch right away with Bennie,” said Abanilla after San Miguel's 120-101 loss to Magnolia on Sunday. “Sabi ko kay Boss Robert (Non), kung ganyan ang gagawin sa atin, might as well call Bennie right away because hindi pa siya tapos sa mga exit interviews niya.
“I told him (Boatwright), come over. May understanding kami. I'll try to fly him in as soon as possible,” added Abanilla.
Boatwright is set for a comeback after guiding San Miguel to the PBA 48th Season Commissioner's Cup crown against Magnolia, which also paved the way for him to be considered as Gilas Pilipinas naturalized player.

Abanilla said Boatwright was part of San Miguel's plans for this conference, but was still playing in Korea during that time.
“He was in the radar. Ang nangyari, hindi siya puwede because of his commitment. In fact, ang sabi niya habang nag-uusap kami, he still has an exit interview,” said Abanilla.
