SAN Miguel Beer will be forced to play without an import against Alaska in their PBA Governors’ Cup encounter on Wednesday night at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
AZ Reid complained of an Achilles heel injury on his right foot after a 92-98 loss to GlobalPort on Friday at the Ynares Center and was reduced into a spectator in practice on Tuesday at Acropolis gym in Libis.
SMB coach Leo Austria later told SPIN.ph that Reid’s injury is being assessed on a day-to-day basis.
“He’ll be the one who can decide (if he’ll play),” the champion coach said after the Beermen's practice on the eve of the 7 p.m. matchup against the Aces.
However, Reid's Philippine agent was more certain, announcing that the former Best Import awardee will sit out the Alaska match as well as the Beermen's 'next games' owing to tendinitis.
"Doctor has advised him to rest," Sheryl Reyes said in a series of posts on Twitter.

Reid was a picture of a frustrated man in the Beermen's loss to GlobalPort, hitting out at the team's defense after the duo of Stanley Pringle and Terrence Romeo led the decisive scoring outburst for the Batang Pier.
Austria later admitted he wasn't aware Reid was nursing an injury during the GlobalPort game.
