ANTIPOLO – NorthPort cruised to a 113-101 win over an all-Filipino Terrafirma on Saturday in the PBA 49th Season Commissioner’s Cup at the Ynares Center.
The Batang Pier claimed their second straight win, and took joint first place in the team standings along with Eastern as they took advantage of the absence of Ryan Richards in the game.
Technically, Richards actually played in the ballgame but was taken out of the game after just one second due to an injury.
Terrafirma dropped to 0-2 despite Vic Manuel playing his first game with the Dyip.
Terrence Romeo didn’t play for the Dyip, foiling a team-up with Stanley Pringle against their first team in the PBA.

“Right now, nag-start pa lang ‘yung chemistry with the team especially we have a new import. We are hoping na ‘yung dalawang panalo namin, magbigay sa amin ng boost going to the conference,” said NorthPort assistant coach Rensy Bajar.
Tolentino brandishes versatility
Arvin Tolentino flaunted his all-around ways by claiming a triple-double, leading the Batang Pier attack with 21 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists to prove that he's more than just a lethal scorer.
Kadeem Jack took advantage of Richards' absence as he lorded over the paint with 32 points and 15 rebounds.
Manuel had 23 points and five rebounds in his first match since being traded to Terrafirma by San Miguel last Monday.
Mark Nonoy added 21 points on 4-for-6 shooting for threes for Terrafirma.
