DANNY Seigle is excited about the possibility of reuniting with fellow veteran Danny Ildefonso at Talk `N Text considering the championship pedigree of the former two-time PBA Most Valuable Player.
“I would absolutely love to play with Danny again,” Seigle told Spin.ph after joining the Tropang Texters in practice for the first time at the Moro Lorenzo gym.
“I know he (Ildefonso) could still play. And that (playing with Ildefonso) would be great,” added the power playing forward, who officially joined the telecommunication franchise on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-7 Seigle and the 36-year-old Ildefonso played together at San Miguel for 10 years, combining to produce six championships for the Beermen before the two parted ways when Seigle was traded.
Although slowed down in recent years by an assorted of injuries, the product of Wagner College believes his long-time frontcourt partner still has a lot left in his tank.
Seigle won’t still play in Talk ‘N Text’s game against Alaska on Thursday, but admitted he’s very much impressed with the intense focus of the team during practice.
“I like the focus of the team. That’s exactly how I expect a championship team should approach practice,” said the former Rookie of the Year.
Since the Tropang Texters are loaded with battle-scarred stars, he will just simply fill in the gap as he tries to help the franchise win a fourth straight all-Filipino title this season.
“These guys (Tropang Texters) are already established. The core is there so I’ll be more of a complement,” he said. “I just want to do what I can do for the team.”
