ANTIPOLO City – This isn’t the time for Barangay Ginebra to celebrate.
Despite Ginebra moving on the brink of clinching a berth in the PBA Governors Cup Finals, Scottie Thompson said the Kings still have business to take care off against the San Miguel Beermen on Sunday.
Behind the dynamic backcourt pair of Thompson and RJ Abarrientos, Barangay Ginebra thrashed San Miguel in Game 5 on Friday night, 121-92, and took a 3-2 lead in their best-of-seven semis.

The Kings can wrap things up with another win on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, and Thompson knows how important it is for the team to move on from the 29-point blowout and focus on the close-out game.
“Para sa amin wala pa kaming narating in this series,” said Thompson, who had 18 of his 22 points in the first quarter to keep Ginebra afloat in the face of a fiery start by the Beermen.

The former MVP also had eight boards and five assists, including an offensive rebound off June Mar Fajardo for a putback late in the third quarter and an 80-75 Ginebra lead.
For someone who’s been to a lot of semifinal wars, Thompson expects a huge San Miguel comeback with the Beermen’s campaign on the line come Sunday.
“We all know magiging ready sila sa Game 6,” said Thompson. “Alam namin sobrang hirap kasi San Miguel is a very tough team.”
