SCOTTIE Thompson believes it’s no time to push the panic button for Barangay Ginebra in the PBA Philippine Cup despite struggling in its last two outings.
The former league MVP said the Kings still control their playoffs fate, especially with three big games ahead of them including Sunday’s showdown against league-leader Magnolia at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

“We still have games and we control our own destiny. Last three games namin nasa amin na yun on how to bounce back,” said Thompson.
Ginebra lost to Meralco on Friday night, 82-73, in a grudge match that came on the heels of a scrambling 101-99 win over Blackwater in a game where it needed a Japeth Aguilar elbow jumper at the buzzer to pull through.
The loss to the Bolts denied the Kings an outright quarterfinals berth as they fell to a 5-3 record in a tie with grand slam-seeking TNT and Rain or Shine for fourth place.
Curiously, after their game against Magnolia, Ginebra will be facing the Tropang 5G and Elasto Painters in their last two outings.
Thompson admitted the loss to the Bolts was a real dampener.
“Lahat kami down. We badly needed that win para sa positioning sa playoffs,” he said. “Good thing na meron pa kaming chance. May three games pa kami.”

And so the Kings expect a battle from here on out starting against their longtime rivals at the Big Dome.
“Sa Sunday talagang bakbakan na naman ito,” said Thompson.
