LA Tenorio hit the game-winning basket, but Scottie Thompson was responsible for making the game-winning play.
The last of Thompson’s eight assists in Game 6 paved the way for Tenorio's clutch three-pointer in Ginebra’s 88-87 thriller against San Miguel Beer that leveled their PBA Philippine Cup semifinals series at 3-game apiece on Sunday night.

Thompson said coach Tim Cone designed the play for no specific player, just for Thompson to create and find whoever the open man was.
“Nag-draw (ng play) si coach Tim to create and makakuha ng break down. Luckily, nakita ko si Kuya LA,” said Thompson.
Tenorio was left a bit open when Jericho Cruz faked a double on Thompson, who found the veteran guard on the left side just outside of the three-point line.

“Classic. Legend. Idol. Wala akong masabi,” Thompson said of his long-time backcourt partner. “Classic game by Kuya LA. Thank you. Nabigyan kami ng another chance na makarating sa finals.”
But Thompson also delivered superb numbers of near triple-double of 17 points, 16 rebounds, and eight assists.
He was 8-of-14 from the field and had no turnovers.
In his own way, Thompson was just as legendary.
