SCOTTIE Thompson and Justin Brownlee are on track for another double for Barangay Ginebra as both are in strong contention for the top two individual awards in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
Thompson is in a perfect position to win another Best Player of the Conference (BPC) award after jumping to No. 2 and crowd out consistent No. 1 Robert Bolick of NorthPort.

The reigning league MVP tallied 32.1 statistical points at the end of the semifinals to give Bolick a run for his money.
The NorthPort star kept his hold of the top spot with 33.9 sps, but the Batang Pier’s failure to advance deep into the playoffs is certain to hurt his cause for the award.

Meanwhile, Brownlee is expected to bag the Best Import award after shooting his way to the No. 1 spot.
The Gilas Pilipinas naturalized player candidate leads the race with 52.7 sps over Magnolia’s Nick Rakocevic (45.5 sps) and Devon Scott of San Miguel (44.8 sps).
Thompson and Brownlee also scored a double during the 2021 Governors’ Cup when they emerged BPC and Best Import awardees, respectively.
Also in contention for the BPC plum are San Miguel’s CJ Perez, Thompson’s Ginebra teammate Jamie Malonzo, and Don Trollano of NLEX.
Perez is running no. 3 with 31.3 sps, followed by Malonzo with 30.9 and Trollano with 29.1.
The BPC and Best Import awards will be handed out before Game 4 of the finals at the Mall of Asia Arena.
