ONE of the best young playmakers in the country is dishing out an assist off the court for an ailing baby who was named after him.
Scottie Thompson has helped organize a fundraiser on Saturday afternoon for Scottie James Hipolito Castro, who is suffering from a liver disease called Biliary Atresia.
The Ginebra star will appear with teammates Kevin Ferrer and Aljon Mariano along with their girlfriends in “Meet and Greet for a Cause with BoyBoy and Mamshies” on Saturday at Flare Resto in Metrowalk, Pasig from 1 to 3 p.m.
As part of the fundraiser, the Gin Kings young guns are selling t-shirts that say “A Gift of Life…a fighting CHANCE” to help raise P2 million needed for baby Scottie’s liver transplant in India.
“We’re inviting everyone to come for this cause,” Thompson said of their event that will happen on the eve of the Gin Kings next game in the Commissioner’s Cup on Sunday against TNT KaTropa.
