CANDON CITY – Solid North’s Calvin Abueva from Converge and Zavier Lucero from Magnolia, as well as Solid South’s Scottie Thompson from Barangay Ginebra, RR Pogoy from TNT, and Jericho Cruz from San Miguel will not be playing in the PBA Season 50 All-Star Game on Sunday.
PBA commissioner Willie Marcial said Abueva, Lucero, Thompson, and Cruz will not be suiting up due to injury, while Pogoy will be out due to a family matter.
Abueva, Lucero, Thompson, and Cruz, though, will be present for the event.

Lucero was replaced by Gian Mamuyac of Rain or Shine to complete the North All-Stars' roster, but the absence of Thompson, Cruz, and Pogoy have left South with only nine players in for the midseason exhibition.
North clashes with South anew
The North vs. South format makes its comeback after six years with the North squad winning, 185-170, the last time back in 2019 in Calasiao, Pangasinan.

Suiting up for the South are then San Miguel's June Mar Fajardo, Ginebra's RJ Abarrientos, Converge's Alec Stockton, TNT's Calvin Oftana and Rey Nambatac, NLEX's Robert Bolick and JB Bahio, and Rain or Shine's Santi Santillan and Caelan Tiongson.
