ANTIPOLO - Scottie Thompson is summoning his inner never-say-die spirit in the PBA Commissioner's Cup playoffs by playing through a hamstring injury.

The former MVP has been nursing a hurting hamstring in Barangay Ginebra's semifinals series against Rain or Shine that he felt relieved after the Kings finally showed the Elasto Painters the door on Sunday night.

The Kings won Game 6 at the Ynares Center, 118-107, to wrap up the best-of-seven series, 4-2.

"Iniinda ko yung hamstring ko. Pero kaya naman," said Thompson, who finished with 16 point, eight rebounds, and six assists in the clincher.

The 31-year-old Thompson has been walking with an obvious limp after every game of the semis.

Arcee Cua, the Ginebra physical therapist, said the injury is manageable.

"Mina-manage namin siya every game. But Ok naman. Scottie can play through it," he said.

He added Thompson began to nurse the injury after Ginebra's win in Game 5.
