SCOTTIE Thompson is grateful for all his time having been around two individuals considered to be among the PBA GOATs (Greatest of All Time).
Thompson mentioned Barangay Ginebra resident import Justin Brownlee and head coach Tim Cone as the greatest in their respective fields, meaning he has had a frontrow seat to watching up close and personal how the two work.
“The GOAT. Yan ang description ko kay Justin. He’s the GOAT right now among imports,” the 33-year-old veteran Gin Kings guard shared in the latest SPIN COVER.

The same goes for 68-year-old Cone.
“Also the GOAT, of course. Mga GOAT sa akin yan. Sila yung mga nagbibigay sa akin ng opportunity and championship, especially si coach Tim,” added Thompson.
Thompson hasn’t played for any coach other than Cone in his more than decade of playing in the PBA.
He was Cone’s first-ever draft pick as Ginebra coach when the veteran mentor selected him No. 5 overall in the 2015 Draft.
Under Cone, the 6-foot-1 product out of Perpetual won a total of eight championships, including the most recent one in the Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup.
“For me, he’s like a father already. A father figure para sa akin,” Thompson said of Cone, the winningest coach in the league's 50-year history with a total of 26 titles.

Of the eight championships celebrated by Thompson, all but one came with Brownlee as teammate.
And despite all that success, Thompson hasn’t seen Brownlee slow down even by a bit.
“Knowing him na makatagal ko na siyang nakasama, every day, na-a-amaze pa rin ako,” the former league MVP admitted.
“Nakikita ko kasi yung ibang imports and naiko-compare ko kay Justin,” added Thompson, who also plays alongside Brownlee at Gilas Pilipinas under Cone, as well. “Si Justin, never kong nakita na nag-relax sa practice, and being the import, siya yung nagli-lead ng example sa amin.”
