But that doesn’t mean the potential opponent of the Elasto Painters for the next round will be any lesser.

A look at the scenarios sees a possible matchup against powerhouse San Miguel for RoS.
The two teams once competed in the semifinals of the 48th Season Philippine Cup, with the Beermen sweeping the Elasto Painters.
Now, SMB is seeded No. 2 in Group A, and will face the No. 3 in Group B.
Rain or Shine's final ranking at the end of eliminations, though, is yet to be determined, as it still has a matchup against Phoenix Super LPG on Friday.
A Beermen-Elasto Painters quarterfinal showdown will only happen if RoS loses to the Fuel Masters and Barangay Ginebra also loses to Blackwater in the second game of the double-header.
With these results, Phoenix finishes at No. 2 with a 6-4 record, followed by RoS at No. 3 with 5-5.
Other scenarios for Rain or Shine
A matchup with Group A top-seed NLEX is also on the radar for the Elasto Painters if they lose to the Fuel Masters, then the Gin Kings defeat the Bossing.
In this scenario, both Ginebra and Rain or Shine will end the elims at 5-5, with the latter getting the third seed due to its +7 point differential.
Converge could also be waiting for the Elasto Painters in the next round, and how this would be set is the least complicated.
For this to happen, RoS has to win over Phoenix to secure the second seed, therefore setting a quarters date with the FiberXers.
