Ian Sangalang's fate to be decided by technical committee after review

ANTIPOLO – The PBA Commissioner’s Office is just awaiting the recommendation of the technical committee on the Ian Sangalang-Aaron Fuller incident before deciding on the issue.

Commissioner Willie Marcial said a review of the Game 2 tape had already been made by the committee, which in turn will endorse the next course of action to be taken by his office.

Marcial is not discounting the possibility of slapping a fine on Sangalang, but maintained that doesn’t necessarily mean the action was intentional on the part of the veteran Magnolia big man.

    Sangalang poked on the left eye of Fuller in the final 30 seconds of the first quarter of Game 2, which the Hotshots won by runaway fashion, 121-69.

    The episode left the veteran import with a swollen eye and a blurred vision, and later taken to the hospital.

    Fuller didn’t practice the next day, but suited up for Game 3 despite still not 100 percent healthy.

    Coach Yeng Guiao later urged the league to review the game tape as he insisted the poking incident was intentional on the part of Sangalang.
