SAN Miguel Beer is going the European way in its PBA Governors’ Cup campaign.
The Beermen are bringing in Lithuanian Tauras Jogela to reinforce them in the season-opening conference that starts a month from now.
The 31-year-old Jogela, undrafted in the NBA but who previously played for the Lithuanian Under-16 team, is arriving in the country this Friday (July 19) after a recent stint in the Lithuanian Basketball League.

But according to insiders, the Beermen are holding their breath that Jogela would be able to meet the 6-foot-6 height limit for imports in the first conference.
The Lithuanian has contrasting measurement regarding his official height. He was officially listed by FIBA at 6-foot-8, although there were entries in other basketball sites that put him at either 6-7 or 6-6.

In any case, San Miguel has a backup plan should Jogela fails to meet the official height limit, as it eyes another import currently seeing action in the Indonesian Basketball League playoffs, whose name the Beermen would rather not divulge at the moment.
