MOVE over beauty queens, step aside gorgeous stars, yield your spot sports heroes, here comes San Miguel Beer's lady of the night - a company employee of 15 years who says she's the shy type and hasn't worn high heels before.
But there she is, Carolyn Eyer, grandly taking the spotlight as the muse of the Beermen, the PBA"s most successful team, during Sunday's 50th year opening. Eyer said she tried to convince her bosses that she is not the right person for the job.
But San Miguel being San Miguel, Eyer soared higher than she ever imagined in her life as she took her spot among a bevy of beauties and celebrities and carried herself splendidly despite being in such a big spotlight for the first time ever.

What is even more astonishing, Eyer is 36 years old, and little is known about her being intensely private. It doesn't seem to matter. She became the choice of San Miguel to lead the team into the arena at the Araneta Coliseum.
She’s into his 15th year at San Miguel, where she started as a sales information assistant and is now an account executive.
The daughter of a Filipina mother and a Swiss father, Carolyn said she hasn’t been a muse in her entire life and her stint in the league’s 50th anniversary celebration was her very first big public appearance.
“Hindi ko thing ito, hindi ako nagmo-model, hindi ako nagmu-muse, to be honest,” she said after the gala event on Sunday night.

“Hindi ko forte ito, mahiyain ako,” added the Fil-Swiss. “I live a simple life and simple person lang ako.”
Born in Switzerland, but who grew up in Palawan, Carolyn got the surprise of her life when she was notified that she’ll be San Miguel Beer's muse.
That she was chosen despite her age was all the more shocking to her.
“Yung head of marketing namin (Mam Binky), siya yung pumili sa akin last week lang. Nagulat nga ako na bigla niya akong pinili kasi sabi ko sa kanya, ‘Mam, I think I’m too old for this,” she related.
But with SMC celebrating its 135th year, it was believed to be a strategic decision of the company to have one its employees serve as muse for the PBA opening.
“Sabi ko nga sana hindi na lang ako. But she insisted na, ‘for the sake of the company.’ So, okay,” said Carolyn.
San Miguel President and CEO Ramon S. Ang was among those who gave the choice of Eyer the stamp of approval.
“Sabi nila they’re proud to say na employee of San Miguel yung gagawin nilang muse, instead of getting somewhere else,” she said.

Being a first timer under the spotlight and watched by national television audience, Carolyn admitted having stage fight during the proceedings as she walked on stage side by side with San Miguel Beer team governor Robert Non.
“Halata naman (na kinakabahan ako) sa video and sa walking. Hindi nga ako naghi-heels, ngayon lang,” Carolyn added.
Of course, she more than held her own with a lineup that included movie actress Sue Ramirez (Barangay Ginebra), the PLDT High Speed Hitters quintet of Mika Reyes, Jessey De Leon, Mary Joy Baron, Kim Kianna Dy, and Savannah Davidson (TNT) or Ms. Universe Philippines 2024 Chelsea Manalo (Meralco) and Ms. Universe Philippines 2025 Ahiisa Manalo.
Let's raise our glass for Carolyn Eyer.
