SAN Miguel goes for a sweep of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup semifinals against Rain or Shine on Wednesday night at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
Game Three is set at 7 p.m.
The Beermen are on a high after pulling off a 117-105 win over the Elastopainters despite trailing by as many as 29 points in the first half. San Miguel even led by as many as 23 before Rain or Shine was able to cut the deficit.
Chris Ross hit 10 triples and ended up with 34 points as the Beermen closed in on a finals berth.
It won’t be easy to finish off Rain or Shine though, according to Ross.
“Like they say, the hardest games in a series are the first ones and the closeout games. We know what type of team Rain or Shine is. They aren’t going to back down. If we want to close this series out and want to book a ticket to the finals, we have to be on top of our game,” Ross said.
Rain or Shine coach Caloy Garcia urged the Elastopainters not be affected by the loss as they fight for survival.
“Every game is different, so if you can win the next game and hope for another game, ‘yun lang naman, eh. You don’t really have to burden yourself with this loss,” said Garcia.
