SAN Miguel continues to make off-season moves heading to the final conference of PBA Season 50.
JM Calma signed a new contract extension with the league’s winningest franchise for two years, although details of the deal weren’t specified.
The signing was done over the weekend in the presence of team manager Gee Abanilla and deputy coach Peter Martin.

The big man out of San Sebastian agreeing to a new contract is the latest personnel movement effected by San Miguel following its early quarterfinal exit in the Commissioner’s Cup.
The Beermen earlier traded away veteran guard Juami Tiongson, rookie Chris Miller, and their Season 52 second round pick to Terrafirma for hotshot Jerrick Ahanmisi and Paolo Hernandez.

Calma is only in his third conference with San Miguel since being acquired in a trade deal with Northport prior to the Season 49 Philippine Cup in exchange for Avan Nava and the Beermen’s Season 50 second round pick (which turned out to be CJ Austria).
San Miguel traded for the 6-foot-6 Calma, a former NCAA Mythical Team member, despite still recovering from an ACL injury, as a young back up for nine-time MVP and veteran center June Mar Fajardo.
A first round pick of Northport (now Titan Ultra) at no. 6 overall in the Season 47 draft, Calma was going great guns with the Batang Pier until suffering an ACL injury during his sophomore year.
Despite limited playing time with San Miguel, he has won back-to-back All-Filipino championships with the franchise, including one in the current season.
He's averaging 7.0 on 59 percent shooting and 4.6 rebounds in his pro career.
