    San Miguel looks to extend wn run to three as Beermen face skidding Columbian Dyip

    SAN Miguel seeks for its third straight win when it battles Columbian on Wednesday night in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

    SMB coach Leo Austria believes the tide is turning for the Beermen following an 0-3 start to the conference, winning two straight, including an overtime victory over Barangay Ginebra.

    “At 2-3, I think there's a possibility that we can make it to the next round. I'm happy to see the players step up. This is the game that we are waiting for sa mga players. I'm happy for them,” Austria.

    The Beermen and Dyip clash at 7 p.m.

      Renaldo Balkman had 27 points and 11 rebounds, and June Mar Fajard tallied 24 points and 19 rebounds in the Beermen’s win over the Kings.

      After a solid start, the Dyip have lost two straight games to fall to a 3-4 record, tying Globalport for seventh place in the team standings.

      Columbian could face for the first time Christian Standhardinger, the rookie San Miguel picked first overall when they were able to obtain the right from the Dyip in a pre-draft deal.

      Standhardinger didn’t play against Barangay Ginebra due to a swollen knee and remains doubtful for eh game against Dyip.
