SAN Miguel didn’t spoil a historic night for Marcio Lassiter as it dealt Barangay Ginebra a 131-82 beating Sunday in the PBA Governors’ Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Beermen sustained what Lassiter began when they raced to an early 37-13 lead after one quarter of a game where the 37-year-old Fil-Am gunner finally became the all-time three-point king in league history.

Lassiter finished with 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting from long distance to hike his total three point field goals made to 1,254 – now the all-time best in the PBA – and surpassing previous record holder Jimmy Alapag at the no. 1 spot.
The 49-point blowout is the biggest winning margin in SMB franchise history and gave the team the passage to the quarterfinals with its sixth win in eight outings.
"I'm very happy for him. I'm very blessed to be his coach. He's the man of the hour," said San Miguel coach Jorge Gallent of Lassiter's historic game.
"I'm just truly honored and blessed to be in this position. Words can't describe how I feel. I'm just overwhelmed with a lot of emotions right now," Lassiter said.
The Beermen never got threatened the rest of the way as June Mar Fajardo joined the scoring fray with 24 points including a three pointer in the first quarter, along with 17 rebounds, CJ Perez with 22, while Terrence Romeo, import Jordan Adams, and Don Trollano combined for 37 points in helping the team deal Barangay Ginebra its biggest losing margin in franchise history.
Rookie RJ Abarrientos paced Ginebra with 19 points and Justin Brownlee had a quiet 16 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists.
The Kings fell to a 5-3 record and saw their four-game winning run come to a halt as coach Tim Cone suffered his biggest losing margin as a PBA coach.
