SAN Miguel and Meralco square off on Saturday in a battle between two of the hottest teams in the PBA Governors’ Cup.

The Beermen and the Bolts battle at 7 p.m. in a Petron Saturday Special at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

San Miguel (6-4) is looking to finish the eliminations on a high note and extend its four-game winning streak.

The Beermen, also eyeing the No. 5 seeding, extended their win streak last week after beating Rain or Shine, 109-97, in June Mar Fajardo’s return from a stress fracture in his right shin.

The Bolts, meanwhile, are looking to secure at least a playoff for the eighth and final quarterfinal spot.

Meralco moved into position for a quarterfinal berth after racking up three straight wins following six straight losses during the conference. Meralco is coming off a 91-82 win over Rain or Shine last October 21.

The Road Warriors of coach Yeng Guiao are playing for seeding as they are currently in seventh place with a 5-5 win-loss slate.

At 2-8, the Elastopainters, on the other hand, are already out of the quarterfinal race.

The match could also possibly be the last for Rain or Shine cager Chris Tiu, who has hinted of retirement at the end of this season.
