DEZ Wells will be tasked to show the way as San Miguel looks to complete the Grand Slam.
Sources close to the situation confirmed the the 27-year-old Wells has been signed as the team's import for the 2019 PBA Governors' Cup.
Wells, a 6-foot-5 forward, played one year for Xavier before transferring to Maryland, where he was named as a First Team All-Big Ten by the coaches in 2015.
He also played for Oklahoma City Blue in the NBA G-League before seeing action in Greece and Italy.
Wells last played for VL Pesaro in the Serie A in Italy, where he averaged 8.75 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.25 assists.
He is set to make his debut in the San Miguel jersey when the team participates in the East Asia Super League Terrific 12 in Macau.
The Beermen are still negotiating a contract for their second reinforcement for the Macau tilt.
The tournament is set in September and June Mar Fajardo is expected to be take a rest after Gilas Pilipinas obligations and Marcio Lassiter still recovering from an MCL sprain.
