GEORGE King had 44 points as San Miguel returned to its winning ways with a 135-105 romp over Terrafirma on Wednesday in the PBA 50th Season Governors’ Cup at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
King shot 3-of-3 from threes and 4-of-6 from fours - a far cry from his 20-point performance in their 116-98 loss to TNT last Saturday where he missed all eight of his threes and made just one of his three fours.
With King back to his old form, San Miguel improved to 8-3 (win-loss) and remain in second place in Group A ahead of its final-elimination round game against NLEX on October 21.

“During our huddle, I remind them that this game is really important to us,” said San Miguel coach Leo Austria. “We want to bounce back from our loss last game and this game is really important for us to maintain our position in the top two.”
June Mar Fajardo added a conference-high 25 points and 12 rebounds in the romp against a Dyip side that, as usual, is no longer in the playoff race.
There was no let-up on the side of the Beermen from the time King made back-to-back fours to stretch the lead to 18, 74-56, in the third quarter after Terrafirma got within 10 points.

SMB led by as many as 43 points.
Cjay Perez added 22 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the field, and Don Trollano had 13 points for the Beermen.
Justin Strings had 28 points and nine rebounds, and Maverick Ahanmisi had 23 points and nine assists for the Dyip, who slipped to 4-7.
