SAN Miguel went on a third-quarter tear to beat Barangay Ginebra, 108-102, on Friday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum and force sudden death in the PBA 50th Season Governors’ Cup.
The Beermen went on a 46-18 third period to erase a deficit as large as 17 points and eventually even the quarterfinal series at 2-2.
SMB and Ginebra play one last time for a semifinal berth on Tuesday at the Ynares Center-Antipolo, with the former looking to complete a comeback from a 0-2 series hole.
The Gin Kings looked poised to finally put away the Beermen with a 61-44 lead a halftime, but were left stunned after a huge 22-0 Beermen run flipped the script.

Veteran Chris Ross joined forces with George King in that big third quarter before all of San Miguel survived a late Ginebra fightback.
