SAN Miguel Beer has brought in for former University of Kentucky product Marcus Lee as import for the PBA Commissioner's Cup.
Lee, 31, is officially listed as 6-foot-11, giving nine-time MVP June Mar Fajardo a towering partner at the San Miguel frontcourt
Team manager Gee Abanilla disclosed to SPIN.ph the signing of Lee.
"Yes, he is. Dumating na siya kaninang umaga," said Abanilla on Monday.
His arrival coincided with San Miguel's return to practice following its successful title retention run in the Philippine Cup.
Lee played for three seasons with the Wildcats where he had for his teammates future NBA stars Karl Anthony Towns, Julius Randle, Trey Lyles, and Willie Cauley-Stein.
He finished with collegiate playing years suiting up though for the University of California.
Lee was undrafted in the NBA in 2018 and took his act instead, in the G. League and later in overseas stints in Italy, Turkey, Puerto Rico, Spain, Australia, and Poland.
He last suited up in the NBL Australia with the Cairns Taipans prior to signing up with the Beermen.
San Miguel last won the mid-season Commissioner's Cup in Season 48 when it had Gilas Pilipinas naturalized player candidate Bennie Boatwright as import.
The Beermen will be going to the second conference fresh from retaining the Philippine Cup championship by beating the TNT Tropang 5G in six games.
