PBA grand slam champion San Mig Super Coffee opened its offseason buildup in Seoul with a 66-79 defeat to Wonju Dongbu Promy on Saturday.

The Mixers, who arrived in South Korea’s capital city late Friday afternoon, plunged into action immediately against Dongbu, one of the top teams in the Korean Basketball League.

“Shooters lahat and very disciplined and fundamentally sound, pero ang sarap kalaban kasi very challenging bantayan,” said one San Mig staff, who saw how Dongbu use its outside shooting to subdue the Mixers.

Dongbu is a three-time KBL champion, winning titles in the 2002–2003, 2004–2005 and 2007–2008 seasons.

The Mixers get right back into action on Monday when they face Seoul SK Knights at Jamsil Olympic Student Stadium.

San Mig is now 0-2 in preseason games after bowing also to Jeonju KCC Egis, 73-69 on Tuesday at the Ronac gym in San Juan.
