    Ray of hope for Samboy as family asking for more prayers and support

    THE family of PBA great Samboy Lim is asking for prayers from friends and basketball fans even as the legendary player continues to show positive signs a day after he collapsed during an exhibition game.

    Information reaching revealed doctors eased earlier fears that the former San Miguel Beer stalwart is already ‘brain dead.’

    “Hindi po totoo na brain dead siya. Even the doctors ruled it out,” said the source who refused to be named.

    “He is breathing on his own po kaya lang may ventilator,” the source added.

    The family of Lim, according to information reaching, is not yet ready to give medical bulletin as to the status of the basketball superstar.

    Since collapsing at the Ynares Sports Center in Pasig Friday night during the Legends’ game, Lim remains unconscious and is now under strict observation for the next 48 hours.

    “May 48 hours na observation sa kanya. Saka pa lang malalaman kung ano ang next na gagawin ng mga duktor sa kanya,” said the source of Lim who is still at the Intensive Care Unit of the Medical City in Ortigas.

    No information has likewise been released as to the result of Lim’s CT scan, which was done hours after he lost consciousness.

    Another positive sign for one of the PBA’s all-time greats, according to the source, is that Lim’s heart rate is normal.

    “Heart po niya is doing well as well as his blood pressure,” said the source.

    Mediamen who continued to wait outside the hospital are still not given any briefing nor medical bulletin from the Lim family and his doctors.

    Samboy’s younger brother Bonbon even tried to evade reporters who were asking for updates as the former Letran guard only asked for added prayers.

    “Pagdasal na lang natin ang kuya ko,” said the younger Lim, who requested for the family’s privacy to be respected.
