Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao and Talk ‘N Text import Richard Howell appeared before PBA commissioner Chito Salud to air their side in the sidelines clash in Game One of their Commissioner's Cup semifinal playoff.
PBA media bureau chief Willy Marcial said Guiao and Howell met separately with Salud for about 30 minutes each on Tuesday as the league commissioner looked into the confrontation that marred Talk 'N Text's 91-85 victory at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
“Siguro mga tig-30 minutes sila kinausap (ni commissioner). Pinatawag sila kanina para itanong kung ano nangyari,” Marcial told Spin.ph on Tuesday.
Salud though has withheld the decision till Wednesday as he reviews the statements issued by Guiao and the 6-8 Howell.
Guiao was complaining near the officials' table with around 17 seconds to go when Howell walked between the fiery Rain or Shine coach and one of the game officials.
The temperamental Guiao appeared to hit the 6-8 import on the stomach, prompting Howell to confront the former. Both benches nearly emptied at that point as players and coaches prevented Howell from getting near Guiao.
The controversial Rain or Shine coach claimed Howell called him "bit***" afterwards, an accusation which the Talk ‘N Text reinforcement vehemently denied.
Just late last week, Guiao confronted Meralco forward Cliff Hodge during the end of Game Two of their quarterfinal series and called him a "mongoloid," prompting Salud to slap the Rain or Shine coach with a P100,000 fine.
Hodge was fined P20,000 for hitting Rain or Shine rookie Raymond Almazan with a closed fist.
