RYAN Araña dished out a pass to Gabe Norwood in one possession and cheered at times for Rain or Shine on Wednesday night.
The San Miguel Beer wingman seemed to have forgotten what side he was playing for.
Araña, who played his first eight years with the Elasto Painters, faced his former team and teammates for the first time this season and lost as the Beermen suffered a 99-84 beating in the Smart Bro-PBA Philippine Cup.
“Actually, napasahan ko nga yung buong bench at si Gabe Norwood kanina eh,” the veteran guard/forward admitted with a smile. “Minsan napapapalakpak pa rin ako na hindi ko sinasadya.”
“Until now, hindi pa rin ako maka-get over na (wala na ako sa RoS),” he added. “Parang na-we-weirdohan pa rin ako na kalaban ko sila.”
Araña, acquired in an offseason trade, ended up going scoreless after missing his three attempts and had two turnovers, although he did grab six boards in 16 minutes.
“Siguro adjustment pa rin for me,” the 32-year-old cager said.
“Siguro good thing na ganun yung nangyari sa amin kasi at least now, alam namin na hindi pa rin pala ganun ka-lakas yung team,” the former La Salle standout added. “Marami pa kami kailangan i-improve at adjustments.”
As for the Elasto Painters, Araña hopes to meet them again deep in the playoffs.
“Congrats na lang sa kanila. Happy din na nanalo sila,” he admitted. “I’m hoping na magkita-kita pa rin kami sa finals.”
